“Former U.S. president Bill Clinton will come to Prague next Friday. One of the initiators of the Prague forum is former Czech President Vaclav Havel. The participants are to include former Irish President Mary Robinson, Canadian former Prime Minister Kim Campbell, French ex-Prime Minister Lionel Jospin, former Brasil President Henrique Cardoso and Open Society Fund head George Soros.” (more)
Bill Clinton and George Soros (especially Soros) are the two people to whom I owe 99% of what I am and where I am and what I’ve got today. Thanks to these two persons I’ve got the kind of education and the kind of mind-set and attitude that I have. I’m very thankful for that.
I’ve been very close to meeting both of them on a few occasions in Bulgaria, in Hungary and in the U.S., but somehow it never worked out (although I had a pleasure of meeting Madeleine Albright and have her sign her autobiography book for me). Maybe this time I’ll have an opportunity to see them here, in Prague.
