Olympus SP-500 Ultra zoom

I’ve finally bought a new camera, a smooth black 6-megapixel Olympus with impressive lenses (see it on Amazon). What I need now is to read a good introductory book about the art of photography. And I suppose I need an account on Flickr, or are there other cool places to host a photo blog? Any recommendations?

Flickr is fine, but it has limit. You can make something like photoblog, like user “doriy” has in livejournal.
And I first of all need my own PC, because it is terrible to have a lot of photos and have no place where to save them.:(
Во, карацей як я завярнула, спадзяюся, што my English is not so bad.:]

Oh, didnt know you were into cameras. Considering you mention megapixels I take it that its digital. I’ve found that the amount of megapixels is pretty much meaningless for the quality of the image… mostly depends on the sensitivity of the CCD chip itself. I got a 3 megapixel cam and a 1.3 megapixel one.. the 1.3 one gives the best images oddly enough. Best way to figure out the sensitivity is to try the camera indoors without flash. Less sensitive ones will simply be (near) black or with alot of noise.

About hosting an image gallery… I have access to two 100mbit servers with 160GB drive space and 1000GB/month transfer limit… you know where to find me :)
