Pig Slaughter Video

This weekend we had a great time in a village in Silezia. This is one of the short videos from the pig slaughtering on Saturday morning. The pig was shot about two minutes before, and still had convulsions, and the old guy Honza just slit her throat. The most funny thing, perhaps, is that the guy collecting pig’s blood is a real Greenpeace-type environmentalist. And the most amazing thing about the people there is their language. It’s a strange mix of Polish and Czech. The intonations and phonetics (dzie, cie) are totally Polish, the words are like 60-70% Polish, and the rest is a mix of Czech, Slovak and I don’t know what else… They call it “our language”. I could understand it so much better than standard Czech. The old guys called me “Russian Pole” or “Polish Russ”, just as a joke, because of the language I was speaking (a mix of Belarusian and Polish). Perhaps, I’ll post some photos later.
