Signatures Collected

This is unofficial data as of today, according to the headquarters of the respective presidential potentials:

1. Alexander Lukashenka — 930,000 people (sounds like awfully a lot, almost unreal, more than 17% of all voters, and especially considering the fact that there are not so many collectors for Lukashenka, and people often slam the door when they hear Lukashenka’s name)

2. Alexander Milinkevich — 105,000 (this is already past the required 100,000 minimum, but they are hoping to get up to 250,000 by the deadline, which is on January 27)

3. Alexander Kazulin — 100,000 (a doubtful figure, but Lukashenka might want him, in order to take away more votes from Milinkevich)

4. Siarhiej Hajdukevich — 78,000 (”puppet oppositioner” will be registered for sure)

5. Siarhiej Skrabiec — 35,000 (with such a small group of signature collectors, and himself being locked up in jail?)

6. General Valery Fralou — 30,000 (I hope he doesn’t collect the required amount; and it already looks like he probably won’t)

7. Zianon Pazniak didn’t disclose the figures.

8. Alexander Vajtovich is already out.

Required minimum: 100,000 people
Deadline: January 27

That 930.000 is probably completely fabricated to scare the opposition candidates. (Or should I say candidate?) That’s roughly all of Minsk’s citizens. It’s statistically impossible. Atleast three people will go through to the next phase, one being Milinkevich.

I really wonder whether Kaluzin was a person who could be negotiated with.
