Web 2.o for movies?

I use Wordpress engine for blogging. I use del.icio.us for bookmarks. I use flickr for sharing and finding new photos. I use Amazon for checking out books and keeping a wish-list. But I don’t keep track of the movies I watched in any meaningful way.

Is there a good online “web 2.0″ site for tracking movies? I.e. a site where I can mark the movies that I’ve watched, rank them, organize and group them in various ways, add comments about them, see other people’s comments, their viewing and voting history, etc.? Of course, I know and visit IMDB.com, but it doesn’t have even half of the above-mentioned features. Most importantly, it’s not socially interactive, like Livejournal, Del.icio.us or Flickr.

P.S. Did I just give someone a million dollar idea?

Indeed, I haven’t noticed any good site possessing all the features you want. The only one that I can think of is Netflix, where I rent DVDs. However, it is by far not socially interactive.
Btw, I’m glad to see you’ve started posting so often!

I might give you some food for thoughts how to explore a web in film
producing experiments with YouTube.com where I publish recently some
controversial newsreels on history as well as with Myspace as technologos
and where I posted some tv piece on protest in Minsk, etc.

I include text with webpage on films especially with ex-dissidents figures
that you probably know to figure out there intellectual legacy, integrity
adding pieces with E.Bonner (widow od AD Sakharov) when she talks on Hodorkovsky when addressing audience in Columbia Univ in NY at AD Sakharov conferenced which I was organizing last year ( while the other day there was very good panel on Belorus organised by Harriman Ins Ukr. Center) and intervs with Anna Politkovskaya and E. Bonner on fate of
russian boys in the army might be of interest to you as well. Chao, V.

When you say “I use del.icio.us for bookmarks”, you should give a link not to the del.icio.us front page, but to YOUR bookmarks

I’ve noticed your remark only now while relevant to film publishing on the web issue I wrote on ‘Chernobyl Tragedy’ with elinks that not corrupted as
you rightly noticed when I was posting it.

April 26 1986 disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in the Ukraine was the product of a flawed Soviet reactor design coupled with serious mistakes made by the plant operators in the context of a system where training was minimal. It was a direct consequence of Cold War isolation and the resulting lack of any safety culture.

The official lies on the accident created a chain reaction of disallusionment among people with USSR leaders which led to eventual collapse of ‘Evil Empire’ and desintegration of USSR.

It must be noted that official information on the disaster appeared only on May 5th while the event was mentioned as minor accident after three days of absolute silence in the media & elsewhere

Because you find the idea worthwhile I will add anew post with elinks to multimedia filming I experiment while the subject of controversy in the Blogoshere became a Nobel prize winner 2003 Shirin Ebady who came now to US to promote her book.
I’ve seen her recently at Columbia Univ. and found her performance politically charged with controversy due to hot issue with iranian nuclear confrontation with the west but as ibdividual very convincing & truthfull.

I’ve listened to Shirin Ebadi at NYC while she had presented her book recently and found her being an authentic, credible and responsible to what she has to say or to write. True, she might be playing a devil’s advocate game for Iran’s nation and even clerical regim as such in the nuclear confrontantion reminiscent of Cold War times.
However, she is definitely knows why and what she’s up to taking
this gamble being a genuine Human Rights Advocate for political prisoners and definitely not a politician with powerseeking ambitions.
