Corpse Bride
Corpse Bride is a brilliant animation. I’m not a big fan of puppets, not at all in fact, but this movie is brilliant: it’s funny, it was made by a genious director (Tim Burton), it has amazing dolls, great music score, hillarious black humour (the British way! I was really laughing my ass off).
The DVD has a bunch of exta features including a short documentary on how the movie and the dolls were made. It’s amazing. During a 55-week shoot each movie scene was set up manually, and still shots were made with a digitial camera. After that 109,440 individually animated frames had to be set up and made into a movie.
Punk’s Puppets are not dead. Highly recommended.
P.S. For those who are interested in Belarus and Belarusian politics, I recommend two more blogs for your blog roll. In case I will not be writing much about current political events, you’ll probably find something in there:

It’s only a hunch. I guess, the simples way would be to write an e-mail and ask. I’m sure, if it’s who I think it is, she wouldn’t mind answering to me…
