In my opinion, there are a few crappy photos, but there are also several photographs that deserve to be published in “National Geographic.” And there are some really funny social commentaries which probably will not be understood by a Western audience: for example, there’s a photo of a van with riot police, next to a poster which is partially covered and you see in Cyrillics a part of the phrase that reads “the city of Lukamo…”

P.S. I’m really sorry about the downtime. My hoster has not been very reliable lately. Considering ever growing traffic on br23.net, I’ll probably move to a more serious web hosting company. If you know of any good offers, with decent uptime guarantees, please let me know (br23net a t gmail.com)

I am pleasantly surprised about your choice of my picture, taken in Warsaw on March 25, 2006. Good luck to Belarus and Belarusians!

Those are some really inspiring pictures :) I’ll look into a reliable host for you, I might be able to make some agreements with a friend to set up a virtual host on his dedicated server. (You’ll be the second site on the whole server)

Thanks for the link - I though the pictures were quality and a few of them extremely moving.
Let me know if you are still having host problems or if the above poster’s offer doesn’t pan out.

I think I like the ones by Paul Osipoff (gallery no. 2, especially the one with flags and “HORIZONT” neon. What’s your opinion?

Marcin Kulinicz: Yep, that’s also my favorite. Both of the photos with flag, in fact: the orange sunset and the Belarusian-Polish solidarity over Horizon. ;)
