Sounds pretty pathetic. How russophobic does one have to be to interprete a stupid mistake (even if deliberate) by some western flight company to russian imperialism? Do you see Evil Russia hiding behind every tree on the street, just waiting to jump on you? Then I guess you should go here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIlKiRPSNGA

Anyway, I am from Switzerland and don't know so much about Belarus. I notice a lot of media in the west is reporting very one-sided about this country. Therefore I have some questions:

Would Milinkevich as a president remove protectionism of the Belarus economy (which in my opinion would lead to its demise?).

Do you think an ethnic Pole could be elected by a majority of ethnic balarussians?

Something that is bothering me: Why is Saakashvili in Georgia regarded as a democrat by the west (oficially he was elected with 98% of all the votes, which is so ridiculous, it isn't even funny anymore) and Lukashenko with 82% of the votes is regarded as a dictator?

Are there alternatives to Milinkevich?

And last question: What is your problem with Russia, I mean they are really not pressing towards a unification (all talks have been postponed a million times, even Lukashenko says it will never happen). Also gas prices for are to rise, so there is no threat anymore that Russia wants something as an exchange.

Anyway, I think a direct democracy as in Switzerland would fit nicely to Belarus, paired with very slow opening of the economy. I have the impression that Milinkevich is being hailed in the west as the only saviour whereas there is no explanation why they think so. Just because he is the only one against Lukashenko? Did he lose the voting just because Lukashenko rigged the elections, or did he really lose? Nobody knows, but for the western media it's clear. I fear he is just another western puppet like Jushtshenko and Saakashvili. The population should decide what is best and not the media, not the white house and not George Soros.

Oh dear, so a mistake by a Czech company has to be happily interpreted by Russians...can I just add that I really do not care about this and simply laugh at the mistake... good joke... and shame on you for racism and russophobia.

"Okno v Evropu"... dont that translate to "home in europe"? Sorry my russian is really poor.

I really have only two explanations for the creation of this bad joke

1. A graphic designer who's geographically challenged made it, and got approved by an equally geopgraphically board of directors.

2. A graphic designer who thought it would be "ok" to move moscow to minsk to account for space-constraints of the final image. Same board of directors approved it.

Side note... I wrote about 10 emails now... not a single reply... Guess they dont understand english or they just ignore me. Anyone know Czech?

I must admit I didn't get it at first, until I had another look at the map. Well, Minsk is perhaps becoming Moscow's "okno v Evropu" in Kremlin dreams. Possibly, Putin is thinking of moving to Minsk instead of having to bear Moscow's traffic congestion. That would at least be at a convenient distance from his Kaliningrad summer-house.

Finally, I come to think of an old anecdote from the times when Europe was divided between East and West and hot the model of "international exhange" worked in those days. Thus, a French group is going to Moscow and a Russian to Paris. Both groups by chance end up in Warzaw. The Russians believe they are in Paris and the French that they are in Moscow.

Well, this could perhaps serve as a hypothetical explanation. The airline company simply thinks that nobody will know the difference, and is now doing a great profit by charging full prices and leaving people halfway. Thus, everyone would think that Minsk was Moscow.

True, this promotion is done by sky europe, but atleast their maps are correct. Sky Europe doesnt own that terminal tho, nor do they own Novy Smichov's site. Have to say, their site is badly broken if you go only to .cz/ instead of .cz/page=index or something. I'm not surprised if the same idiot who made the site also made the image. In any case, I've sent an email to all people on that contact page and got zero replies. I would call them if I could but I dont have access to a phone on the hours they work.

}T{Reme [Q_G]: Maybe you are right, it makes sense to write "thank you" letters to Novy Smichov, though I'd like to note that the map is a part of the Sky Europe promotion (free air tickets), so there's no doubt that Sky Europe is the boss of this project.
